I Don't Like Morning People

I made this art journal page as my June's inspirational project for SLS Lines.  I had fun with this great image called Tired Mom Needs Coffee.   The image can be found here. I just love the expression on her face. This was a fun project.

SLS Lines

The background was created with a gell plate, several colours of acrylic paint and some textured wallpaper.  The pattern turned out very bold and I toned it down with a thin coat of gesso. I added the circles using a lid for a bottle and acrylic paint.  My image was coloured with Copics and a black charcoal pencil. The sentiment was created on my computer.

Pop over to the SLS Challenge Blog to see the inspiring creations of the design team.  There is still time to join in the current challenge, Monochrome Challenge, just create your card or project using the current theme and enter it here

Altered Bottle

I decided to make an altered bottle for this month's Creative Artiste's challenge using a maple syrup bottle I found in my recycling bucket.

This month our sponsor is Foil Paper.

It was fun making the altered bottle.  I painted my bottle first with Gesso and then with acrylic paint.  I then added some diamond stencils with modeling paste. Once the paint had dried I added a fabric applique, cheese cloth and some flowers .  I then added some Gesso to the flowers to give them some texture. The butterfly is a digital from Morgan Fitzsimons that I printed out on paper and coloured then printed it on mylar and layered them on my bottle.

To complete the project I made a topper for the bottle and added some pearls.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.  Pop over to the Creative Artiste Challenge blog to see the projects the design team have created to inspire you.  Hope you will join us this month.
