Altered Village

It is the 1st of July and time for another altered/mixed media challenge at Altered Eclectics.

This week I decided to alter some houses.  I cut a couple of blocks from my hubby's wood scraps.  I had a problem cutting out the windows and doors so my hubby ended up finishing them for me.

I painted the blocks with Gesso then decoupaged the houses with some designer papers by Studio Calico.  I used several different patterns from the pack and then added a wash of colour over the paper, using a different colour on each house. I added different roofs to each house, burlap, game pieces and metal belt findings. Next I added some finding and numbers to the homes to make them unique. The add ons include numbers, fence, crown, key, stamps, gears, and a bird.

Here are some closer looks

By the Sea I Long to Be

It is July and time for another great challenge ay Eclectic Ellapu this month.  The theme of the challenge is sea side or summer colours. I chose to do a tag book with  sea theme.  I used my large Tim Holts' tag die to cut out my tag book and painted the background with acrylic paints then added real sand and some little shells and pieces of blue stone .  The fish, shells and sea weed are either rubber stamps from my collection or digital stamps.
